Papatuanuku poem

 

Ngahere, Maunga, Awa, Tangata, everyone and everything needs papatuanuku. She is here for us, she cares for us, she provides what we need to survive. Without her we wouldn't be where we are today and for that i am thankful for her and everything she has done.

Today we presented our genetic disease in science and I spoke about Tuner syndrome. Turner syndrome only affects women it slows down the sexual development

SEND IT CHALLENGE

 Today in science we made a catapult out of rubber bands, a cup, ice block sticks, a lot of tape and a spoon, it was kind of difficult at the beginning because we didn't really know what to do but we ended up getting it at the end. We done this so we could try and solve problems involving motion. Unfortunately our one did not get very far but it was fun to make and funny to watch when we had a competition within our class to see which contraption could go the furthest

NZ Entrepreneur

 Kia ora over the past few weeks we have been working on couriers, recently we had to research a famous NZ entrepreneur for my NZ Entrepreneur i researched Karen Walker, Karen Walker is a New Zealand fashion designer who went to Epsom girls grammar, she has designed glasses, jewellery and fragrances. Some of her products was worn by Rihanna as shown in the poster down below, she left school to pursue her dreams as a fashion designer and in the year 1989 but rose to prominence in 2000, when she debuted at New York Fashion Week. her business is worth $18.6 million dollars as of the 16th of June 2020

Leadership & Goverment

 Over the past few weeks we have been learning about the government and leadership. Leadership is when someone is a leader of something and they are willing to do things for their people. Democracy is when not only certain people get to say what happens because you have your own voice. Government is a group filled with people to govern a certain place. Every single topic we have learnt about they all have a connection to leadership and government, such as leadership within my school, we have many leaders in our school and it goes from the board of trustees ( BOT ) to the head girl and boy and the prefects. You need democracy to have leadership because you will need to have a voice of your own, you need leadership to be in the government because you will have to lead and make good decisions for that area you are governing. This topic made me open my eyes because i didn't know the history and the backstory about all this leadership and government around the world. One massive issue we have in our community is the street lights, we need to get more because it is getting very dark and it's unsafe.

How does healthy lunches affect our zero waste as a school

 In science Me and Manaia are researching how does healthy lunches affect our zero waste as a school. we we are going to interview the caretakers of the school and Whaea Ange and the healthy lunches people, we are interviewing them to compare how much waste we had last year and compare it to our waste from this year.

The nazi 👀

 The nazi is a party controlled by germans, a main man in this party is someone who was once feared by all people named Hitler something i liked was when the man who was killing all the jews came and told them that they are free, I didnt like the nazi mainly because they were taking innocent jews lifes, young or old they had no mercy I know now how the jew's were treated in their own country and most likely on their own land and i am grateful that our tupuna did not have to go through that I would like to know how the people that killed the jew's were after the war, like how they were mentally knowing they killed all the innocent people

Kahurangi - Schindler list

 We watched a film named Schindler list, it was about how Hitler had his army people slaving the Jews into doing stuff and killing them, Out of all the bad people their was one nice man named Oscar Schindler who saved 1,000 Jews from dying, I didn't know much about the holocaust or anything but now i have some knowledge about it, I know now how human rights were shown in Germany, the human rights in that country compared to the ones in this country is very different, we had wars but they had people enslaved and tortured and killed just for fun, my question is How all the soldiers could take an innocent humans life
